Update- One Woman's Eyewitness Account of a Pregnant Palin

News Type: Opinion — Sun Aug 31, 2008 7:07 AM EDT

Earlier I posted a few stories on the wild speculation and hatemongering going on in the seedy web world of Democratic extremists. They were trying to pass the fake story that McCain VP pick Governor Sarah Palin was never pregnant, that she was a liar about the pregnancy. They claimed that she was covering for her own daughter's teenaged pregnancy, trying to hide the truth and passing her daughter's baby off as her own.

Well, now we have even more reason to understand how depraved these Democrats are, because a website posting by a teacher has been found to confirm that at least one person saw a pregnant Palin earlier this year.

All the speculation on whether Governor Palin was pregnant is easily put to rest by the eyewitness account of Elizabeth Eubanks from April 29 of this year. Eubanks was in an airport in Fairbanks waiting for a flight when she unexpectedly saw Governor Palin in the airport also waiting for a flight.

Eubanks reports that she found Palin to be a wonderful person.

Of course I had to check out the "Hottest Governor in the US" and quickly turned to see her pregnant (she has since had her baby) with bags and daughter in tote. Then it struck me as odd. Why is the Governor of Alaska in the airport and preparing to get onto my commercial flight?

Well, why WAS the Governor waiting for a commercial flight? It seems as a cost cutting measure, Governor Palin sold the state jet on Ebay for 2.1 million dollars.

So, not only was she pregnant despite the claim of the jackasses in the Democratic Party, but we get to see another example of how fiscally responsible she is! Go ON with your bad self, Governor Palin!

The governor of the State of Alaska is pregnant . . . and only one person noticed? I hadn't really given this story much credibility until I read this column by you WTH. If you are vociferously defending against it, and all you can come up with is one person to confirm her pregnancy, then I guess maybe this story does have some legs. I guess a release of the hospital records would put an end to it, or even the child's birth certificate. Perhaps a DNA test. That should pretty much clear it up.

Exactly. This actually adds to the thought that she may not have been pregnant. Lends credence to the other side.

Both of my children were in the 6 pound range and neither we premature. A woman 8 months into a pregnancy doesn't look like that carrying a 6 pound child.

Normally I would say leave this alone but this just doesn't add up.

This is VERY interesting!!! It reminds me of one of the story lines just last year on "Desperate Housewives". Bree, the uptight conservative Mother of a teen daughter who gets preggers, Bree buys the "baby bumps" and does indeed appear to be pregnant, daughter goes to stay with relative until the birth and, VOILA, Bree is a new mom in her 40's...does Gov. Palin strike you as the type who might watch this show? We, most of us, do have some "guilty pleasures", n'cest pas? Again, just wonderin'.

Wait, you mean when she was supposedly in labor? 'Cause her water, supposedly, broke during a speech.

So this one person notices that she's pregnant, but not that she's in the process of having a child.

It's a far-fetched story. I like to think that it's her child and people are just trash-talking, but nothing conclusive is surfacing. Just you.

You have to consider that many of these kinds of stories are drummed up by those who oppose. It is not from either camp as many suspect, but from plain nut jobs.

Neither party should give credence to stories such as this.

You have some wackos claiming that Palin did not have a baby. You have others claiming that Obama is not an American. Then you have some saying that McCain has "666" marked on him, and that Biden's wife was drunk and ran a red light when she was killed.

This all does not matter.

Grow up and write and read about what really matters. The future of our country.

Wait....McCain doesn't have "666" marked on him?

So why is he like that?

I think the rumor is stupid, pointless and hateful but your evidence is rediculous. I mean truely laughable to say the least. One person saw her pregnant and suddenly it's all true. I mean seriously if someone was going to go through all of the trouble of pretending that they'd given birth to someone elses baby (which I'm not saying she did) you'd think they would atleast be smart enough to walk around with a fake tummy on.

OK - first of all I'm not sure that "seeing" a person who is all dressed really proves anything. But more importantly - I'm a mother. Being a mother myself, I would NEVER risk the health (and possibly) life of my unborn child by not seeing a doctor when my water broke - and especially to get on a plane and go all the way to Alaska from TEXAS??? Most airlines won't even permit it. And then to go to a local hospital once you got there - not even to a hospital with special facilities for premature infants?? I know that my doctor told me that when my water broke it was time to go directly to the hospital. Instead of criticizing democrats - I would like to know if you are a mother - and, if so, what you would have done in this situation.

My point of this is first of all it is a RUMOR, and if it turns out to be FACT so what? She is a loving mother looking out for her child, how low to you need to get to report a story as this. It has nothing to do with her capabilities of being a Vice President. It is not a governing issue. It is a privacy issue for her family. As of now I do not believe this article.

and if it turns out to be FACT so what?

I'm don't necessarily believe this story either, because it seems so farfetched. The same kind of garbage that gets thrown around about Obama. But I know this sort of thing has happened in the past, so I won't say that it couldn't be true.

At the same time, I feel the need to answer your question: "if it turns out to be fact, so what?" Well, if it does turn out to be fact, then it is proof that this woman is inherently dishonest. If it is true, then she went to great lengths to disguise the truth to the public so that she and her family wouldn't have to bear the religious guilt and shame of an unwanted teenage pregnancy. She would have lied to the press and the public that voted her into office, and more importantly, she may have even conspired to commit a forgery (if the birth certificate was forged to show her as the mother).

But even more important than any of that, she would have forced her daughter to give up acknowledgement of her own child just to avoid embarrassment and further her political career. That would make her much more than a liar. That would make her a monster. And certainly not the type of person I would want in the Executive office.

    Dirk-

I ask you, in this case is it a forgery or is it an adoption? People who adopt babies, are there when the birth certificate is drawn up and their names are placed on the certificate as they are the parents.

I also believe it is a normal thing, (if fact), that a parent will do anything to protect their children from public exposure. An animal will eat you alive to protect their young!

That's a good point, BB, and I honestly don't know the answer to that question. It would depend on the State requirements for filling out the information on the birth certificate. Anyway, I understand about why she might do it. But it doesn't change the fact that it would be a lie to the public and to her constituents that should be considered when judging her character. Just as Edwards lied about his affair to the public and that will be a consideration should he run for office again.

BB: But it raises another question as well about the credibility of this rumor. As I've said a few times, trying to pass off someone else's baby as your own would be incredibly complicated, involving the collaboration of many other people, and would be almost impossible to pull off. But it would have been as easy as pie for Palin to announce that she and her husband had decided to adopt a child with Downs syndrome, because they wanted to put their principles into practice that disabled children had a right to live. The mother's identity in that case would have been confidential information, and although people might have had suspicions, they wouldn't have been able to prove a thing. That's how I think anyone with minimal intelligence would have handled a scenario like the one in this bizarre rumor, which makes a great soap opera plot but would be totally unrealistic in real life.

And my point is that - yes, it is a rumor, and I do feel that it's a matter of privacy. HOWEVER, it does have something to do with being a VP of a powerful country. It's a demonstration of the kind of judgment that you have - willing to risk the life of a child just so it not be born in Texas?? We're not talking about a 3rd world country here - it's the state of Texas with good hospitals. Don't know if you've been pregnant, but I know that I delivered my children within a few hours of having my water break - and I certainly would not have wanted to be on an airplane. What about other decisions - are they going to be just as irrational??

why are you wanting to believe this article before the facts are in?

My daughter had her water broke and had a healthy baby and was home within a few hours. She didn't get on an airplane but she was home and walking around do what new moms do and nursing the baby.

I do not believe that this is a form of lying, it is a family issue. Like liberal tried to make a big deal about Cheney's daughter being gay. Who Care's ? I know that is their private business. His daughter's business, as this, if proven to be true is between the daughter and her family. Teenagers do make mistakes and if the family chooses to cover it up and can well and good.

This again is Politics at it's unfairness.

Well, Warner's column has been suspended for a week and he'll be unable to delete columns for a month. Now isn't that true justice, the same week that the GOP holds their truncated convention, Warner can't shell out more party spin. By the By, I'm not being critical of the GOP's decision for altering their plans because of the storm, I think they are trying to put a positive light on a bad situation, noble nevertheless. It is a difficult situation and it will be interesting if it can help or hurt them come November.

Warner, first, please stop using "Democrat" as a modifier every time you mention this kind of venomous rumor mongering. In the first place, these tactics are found on the loony fringes of the left and right. Second, this story apparently started in Alaska when people had too little to do on long, dark evenings; it predates her choice as VP. And third, some Democrats, myself included, have spoken out against it, and Obama certainly won't touch it with a ten foot pole. His only statements about her have been strictly limited to her supporting policies he disagrees with.

One argument, I think, can shut the whole thing down. Please consider this: in order to pull a switch like this, she'd need the cooperation of her gynecologist, her daughter's gynecologist, the entire OB-GYN team at the hospital where the birth supposedly occurred, and probably a lot of other people along the way. And not one of them blabbed? Get real! These are human beings we're talking about! No group of people that large can keep a secret for five minutes.

      Um, "ellen g":

"[L]iberal tried to make a big deal about Cheney's daughter being gay" - Yeah, it was a fact known by quite literally everyone, yet when it was merely mentioned one time, the rightwing exploded into a sick, hypocritical passive-aggressive frenzy.

"How DARE they mention the (well-known by most English-speaking people on the planet) fact that Mary Cheney is Straight-Challenged (we won't say the word 'gay', because saying or writing it might either make us 'it' or make our brain-damaged supporters suspect we are 'it'")

Yeah, spare me if I am less than sympathetic, ya whiny-assed sissy GOP.
